Mama Dean's Dank Brownies

Like most great things, Silly Putty, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Ink Jet Printers, Mama Dean's Dank Brownies were made by accident. It is not just simply a brownie and peanut butter fudge, it is a match made in heaven for your mouth.

Ingredients for Brownies:

  • 1 Cup shortening
  • 3 - 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 Cups of sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
Directions for brownies:  First preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the shortening and chocolate together in a small pot over a very low heat, constantly stirring. Once mixed together let cool. In a separate dish mix together all of the ingredients. Pour batter in a 13x9 dish that has been greased and floured and cook for 30-35 minutes.

Ingredients for Fudge:

  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 Cups of sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 5 oz. can evaporated milk (2/3 c.)
  • 1 Jar (7 1/2oz) Marshmallow Fluff
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 12-oz. package peanut butter chips
Directions for Fudge: In large saucepan combine the first 5 ingredients. Stir over low heat until blended. Increase heat to Medium and bring to a full on boil. Boil slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and peanut butter chips until they are all melted.

Once the brownies are moderately cool, pour the fudge over them and let cool until fudge has set. Very simple yet delicious recipe so once it is set and cooled, or warm if you dare, cut and Devour.
