The fact that he is considered to have one of the best albums of last year is one reason to know who he is. The fact that this "album" was just a bunch of unfinished songs stolen from him and put on the internet, is an even bigger reason to check him out. Even if you don't who he is, you've probably come across some of Jai Paul's music. Some big name artists including Drake and Beyonce, have sampled his work, and his song "Jasmine" is on soundtrack for GTA V. The reason I chose the song "Crush" is because it was the first song that I heard by him, and I was immediately hooked. Everything from the beat in the intro, to the synth part is just perfect. Its just to good not to get up in move to the beat, and to end it with a sick guitar solo, just pushed this track over the top. This is definitely one to check out.

Watch out for this ...lame a** title
Major Lazer is comprised of the production trio of Diplo, Jillionare, and Walshy fire...yeah I didn't know the names either when I first heard of Major Lazer, but when I listened to this song it definitely prompted me to do some research. It turns out that there is this electronic movement called Trap (praise the Trap Lord) , that has gained popularity during the last couple of years, and Major Lazer seems to be one of the front runners. But enough about the artist, let's talk about the track. The song "Watch out for this" is off the album "Free the Universe" which was released in April, 2013. One of the things that sets Major Lazer apart from other artist of in the genre is their continuous homage to the culture of the Caribbeans, and mainly Jamaica. A lot of their songs have vocals from Jamaican artists, have Caribbean style beats, and this track is no different all. As soon as the song starts you're hit with half island half electronic beat coupled with this weird voice that kind sounds like humming and trying to talk at the same time. Then you're hit with the most surprising thing in electronic (and especially trap) music, ACTUAL INSTRUMENTS. There is an awesome horn loop that repeats through out the song that fits perfectly with the upbeat dance vibe that the producers were trying to go for. Overall its a great track that fun to listen and dance to, check it out.

Bump Alert: Hot Chip's "The Warning"
I honestly am pretty late to the Hot Chips party, but I'm glad I showed up. As you will find out soon, I'm into rap mostly, so they're pretty different from what I listen to. I think I found them while using "Songza" (an app you should defiantly get) and I was totally surprised by how much I liked the song. "The Warning" is off of Hot Chip's album with the same title that came out in 2006, and is the most relaxing, intimidating, and fun song I've ever heard. It has a really nice intro using a bell set type sound that sets the tone for the whole song. Even with it's interesting lyrics, it still made me nod my head and feel pretty good about my day (you'll understand). Don't let this horrible review stop you from checking it out, it's a pretty good song...trust me.
